Frugal Recipes Readers' Recipes
Easy French Bread I just found your website and am very impressed! I'm newly married and have been overwhelmed at cooking for my husband's appetite. I spent 20 minutes on your site and have 20 pages of new ideas that I'm sure will work wonders with our budget. Thank you so much! This is one of my favorite side-dishes my mom made when we had spaghetti. It's very easy to make, is an excellent side dish, and is incredibly cheap.* * * Ingredients:
1 loaf French Bread from the bakery (I usually get this at
night for $1.00)
Garlic salt
Paprika
Butter
Parsley
Spices to taste
Directions:
Cut the loaf in half lengthwise, and spread butter generously
over bread. Sprinkle garlic salt as a base layer, then add paprika,
parsley, and other spices to taste (oregano and Italian spices work well).
Place on baking pan, and cook in oven for 10-15 minutes at 350, or until
bread is toasted.
