Summer Fun: Homemade Bubbles
Summer just
wouldn't be complete without a few hours of bubble fun, and what could be better
than making your own bubbles at home whenever you want! More...
Bubble Recipe There are several different types of homemade bubble solution recipes you can make but the one we use is very simple... 2 T. of liquid dish washing soap mixed with 1 c. of water! Store your bubble solution in a mason jar or other clean container with a lid. You can u And for parties you can make a larger batch of bubble solution with glycerin, that's the stuff which makes the bubbles iridescent--you can find it at your local drugstore, using 3/4-1 c. dish soap, 1 gallon of water and about 1-3 T. of glycerin (a little goes a long way). These bubble solutions work best after they sit over night! Bubble Blowers Thankfully, we save way too much stuff... including used plastic bubble blowers! But if you don't happen to have any on hand, there are several other things you can use to blow your bubbles. ~ Metal egg holders from Easter egg decorating kits! ~ A wire coat hanger, cut and/or shaped into a circle - or any other shape! ~ Pipe cleaners shaped into circle or other shapes! ~ Flyswatters--clean ones please! ~ The plastic rings from a six-pack of soda! ~ Plastic or wooden hoops used for cross-stitch, quilting or embroidery! ~ Cookie cutters, egg rings and pancake rings! ~ Summer berry baskets! ~ "Bubble Wands" are also now available at fancy garden stores. They are shaped out of a thick copper wire and attached to a very expensive stick! ;o)
