You do not have to be a professional writer to submit
a craft article, however, please review our submission guidelines to
help ensure your article is ready for publication. (Please note:
Articles previously published on the Internet cannot be accepted for
this monthly column.)
Please include the following information with your
submission...
* Title of Craft or Gift Project
* Your First and Last Name
* Photo of Finished Project (if available)
* Brief Description of Project
* A List of Items Needed to Make Project
* Detailed Directions for Making Project
All article submissions will be reviewed by the editor
and considered
for publication in an upcoming issue of Living a Better Life, and on the
Web site, BetterBudgeting.com. Writers will be notified by e-mail if
selected for publication.
SUBMISSIONS
Please submit articles in plain text by copy and pasting them into the body
of an email, along with a photo of the craft if possible.
Please do not send your article as an
attachment, we do not open them for security reasons. Please proof-read and
spell-check your work before submitting (we will
edit your article for spelling, grammar and punctuation if needed).
PAYMENT
We offer $20.00 (USD) per published article for first
time publishing rights and $5.00 extra if a good quality original photo
(or photos) of the craft
is used along with the article. Please send photo submissions in .jpg
format. Please note, craft submissions that include photos do have
a better chance at winning, but all submissions will be considered for
publication.
COPYRIGHTS
As the original author of your article you will retain
the copyrights and are free to offer it as a reprint in other
publishing venues. However, please allow some time before offering your article
as a reprint and include a note "First published by
BetterBudgeting.com" when possible. This will help other
craft writers learn about our submission opportunity!
By submitting an article to
BetterBudgeting.com, you are verifying it
is your work and you are the legal copyright owner of such work, and
will hold us harmless of any and all copyright disputes or actions which
may result because of any copyright infringement issues. (In other
words, PLEASE do NOT submit craft and gift ideas copied from another
source!)
AUTHOR BYLINES
Published articles will include the writer's name
under the title along with the copyright date and repeated name at the
bottom of the article. Although we do not
provide a link to Web sites a contact e-mail address
can be included if requested.
